Notes on Harold A. Sprague

HAROLD A. SPRAGUE
Funeral arrangements are pending at Kearns-Dykeman chapel for Harold A. Sprague, 59, who died at home, 1005 Burton Ave., of a heart attack at 10:30 p.m. Sunday.
He had been in the hospital earlier last week for observation, but had planned on returning to work Monday. Oxygen was administered for 20 minutes by the Waterloo fire department inhalator squad, but there was no response.
Mr. Sprague was born Jan. 23, 1898, on a farm near Oelwein, son of the late Samuel Sprague and Mrs. Luella Hile Sprague, of 302 Mobile St.
He lived in Oelwein and area farms before coming to Waterloo in 1942. He had been employed at Rath's since then.
On Nov. 4, 1944, he married Sena Kupel in Monticello. She died in February, 1954.
On mar. 30, 1957, he married Audrey Platner in Waterloo.
Mr. Sprague was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the United Packing House Workers Union.
Surviving are , besides his mother and second wife: five brothers, Aaron, 210 Denver St., Loren, 1535 Burton Ave., Frank, 520 Wema Dr., Evansdale, Phillip, 133 Michigan Dr., Elk Run, and Vincent, Mt. Pleasant; and three sisters, Mrs. Irma Kauten, 91 Franklin St., Mrs. Pauline Brehmer, 1230 Sheldon St., and Mrs. Dessie Kammerman, 302 Mobile St.
He was preceded in death by his father, first wife, two brothers and one sister.
The family requests that instead of flowers contributions be made in his name to the Benevolence Fund of the First Presbyterian Church.
