The Will of Matthew Hanson of Fell Lane, Keighley, Yorkshire
Dated 30 September 1793
In the Name of God, Amen, I Matthew Hanson of Fell Lane in the Parish of Kighley in the County of York being sick and weak in Body but of sound mind, memory and understanding, make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. First of all I give and bequeath unto my dearly beloved wife Elizabeth the Sum of Fifteen pounds to be paid to her at twelve calendar months after my decease by my hereinafter named executors. Also I give and bequeath unto my sons Thomas Hanson and John Hanson all of the benefit that shall arise from the lands I do occupy during the term of my lease being out. The said Thomas and John Hanson paying thereout unto my son William the sum of four pounds to be paid to him at a twelve months after my decease. Also I give and bequeath unto my sons and daughters, viz, Thomas, John, Olive wife of William Smith, Mary wife of Luke Smith, William, Ellen an equal share of all my personal estate goods and chattells to be equally paid at twelve months after my decease by my hereinafter named executors. And I hereby nominate and appoint my two sons Thomas and John Hanson whole executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former will and wills by me heretofore made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this thirtieth day of September in the year one thousand seven hundred and ninety three.
