R. Spragues to celebrate golden event
AURORA, Colo. -- Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sprague will note their golden wedding anniversary Tuesday, Nov. 25.
The Spragues, formerly of Oelwein, now reside at 1540 Billings, D 33, Aurora, Colo. 80011.
Their children and their families will host an open house at the recreation hall in the mobile home park where they reside. Their children are Gailen R. Sprague, Ban Nuys, Cal., Carole Fae, Mrs. John W. Schultz, Riverton, Wyo., and Suzanne Sprague, Denver.
Mrs. Sprague is the former LaVelle Kiefer. Mr. Sprague owned and operated a livestock feed and seed firm and an elevator, now Ruff's, before his retirement.

Services set for Ralph A. Sprague
Ralph A. Sprague died Thursday in Aurora, Colo., where he made his home. Sprague, 77, was born and reared in Oelwein and operated Sprague Feed and Elevator here for over 35 years, retiring in 1955. He moved to Aurora, Colo., in 1960. He served on the city council here for five years and on the Fayette County Fair board for 10 years.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Hintz Funeral Home in Oelwein with the Rev. Bruce Brooks officiating. Burial will be in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Friday.
Surviving are his wife, LaVelle of Aurora, Colo.; one son, Gailen Sprague of Van Nuys, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Carol Faye Schultz of Riverton, Wyo., Suzanne Sprague of Denver, Colo.; one brother, Howard Sprague of Clinton, Mass.; two sister, Gertrude Kraft of Los Lunas, N.M., and Mrs. George (Marjorie) Allison of Oelwein; two granddaughters and four grandsons.
A memorial fund has been established for multiple sclerosis.
